Job Overview
The Program Manager supports the Executive Director in the development of the program, curricular content, and teachers’ practices in the classroom. This position has an educational focus, involves time in the classroom, mentoring and modeling new practices for teachers, as well as supporting maintenance of ratio as needed. An understanding of Keystone Stars and DHS requirements is essential.
The Program Manager will work with the leadership team to implement projects and practices in the classrooms including Young Toddler, Older Toddler, preschool, PreK, and elementary age programs. These projects and practices will align to SMNS’ mission, Reggio Emilia philosophy, state mandates and Keystone accreditation requirements.
Each week the PM will meet with the ED, as well as with teacher teams or individual teachers. The PM may be involved in hiring new staff, identifying professional development resources for staff, mentoring teachers, especially coordinators, and meeting regularly with teaching teams.
The PM should be prepared to be in the classroom as needed, to teach lessons, lead projects, and set up spaces in order to demonstrate changes being implemented. They may also help create action plans for individual children as needed.
Additionally, the PM may be responsible for certain business tasks relevant to the program as delegated by the Executive Director.
Qualifications
BA or MA in Early Childhood, Elementary Education or equivalent. Experience teaching adults or leading professional development is required. An understanding of and commitment to progressive education, child led learning, racial justice, and equity is a requirement. Experience working in diverse settings, and supporting young children who are multilingual learners is preferred.

Compensation: $20- 25/hour depending on credentials. Option for child/dependent to attend SMNS for reduced tuition. Health and Dental insurance available after the introductory period (90 days); Paid Holidays, mental health days, and support for ongoing pursuit of ECE degrees.
